Editors' ReviewDownload.com staffNovember 7, 2008Though this powerful audio-file conversion utility offers a feast of options, the trial version provides only a taste. Audio Convertor Plus supports a wide array of audio formats, including MP3, OGG, WAV, and WMA , as well as the lesser known RAW, G721, and G726. Audiophiles will appreciate the Advanced MP3 settings, which include high- and low-pass filtering, bit-reservoir toggling, and ATH control. In our tests, the program speedily transformed files back and forth between formats. The interface is mostly straightforward, though it could use some tool tips. The meager help file doesn't even explain the difference between the demo and the registered version. We soon figured out that the trial converts only half of any given file. That was frustrating, given how many freeware programs provide similar functionality. However, if you need a better interface and finer control over your audio output, Audio Convertor Plus's $19 registration fee is reasonable.
